Equinor has awarded Transocean a contract valued at about $89 million for use of the Transocean Norge rig, which is winterized to withstand Norwegian weather conditions, according to a news release.

The job entails drilling six wells total for the Tordis/Vigdis, Visund, Bauge and Snorre licenses on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, starting in summer 2019. The contract includes drilling services such as slop treatment and cuttings handling and part of the mobilization fee, Equinor said in the release Sept. 21.
